Nine

Cinderella and Prince Charming have nothing on us.
Nine years ago today I got to say I do to Mr. Blue.

I still remember, as though it were today- not nine years ago- literally floating down the aisle to get to Jamie. I thought for sure, my heart was going to beat right out of my chest. I don't think the smile left my face for our entire day- our photographer tried to get me to take a "serious" portrait, and kept scolding me because I just couldn't help the smile that kept creeping back in to every shot.
I can still smell the chill and dampness that was in the air that day-hear the toasts given during our ceremony, to friends, to family and to love- taste blueberry pancakes, (the only thing I ate the whole day, save for a cupcake which was gently "pushed" into my face, some of which actually reached my mouth- see how Jamie looked at me as I made my way to him- and feel really the almost palpable energy that flowed from everyone around us.
It was a magical day. No, Cinderella and Prince Charming have nothing on us. We get to live our kooky little fairy tale everyday...kids, demon dog, old house and each other. I don't think my foot would look very good in a glass slipper anyways. I can't wait to see what the next chapter brings.
